non-refundable deposit for either property is £200 & should
be paid via PayPal (link on house website) or by
cheque to The Big
Country House Ltd, 15 Victoria Road, Retford DN22 7DJ. This
will secure your booking. We will confirm by email as soon

Changeover day is usually Friday
or Monday. Other days by request.

Arrival &
Departure times |
A short break is 3 nights and the
house is yours from 3pm on day of arrival until 10am on day
of departure. Access details are sent once full payment is
received.
Both houses accept dogs at £16 per
dog. Please make sure all pets remain downstairs. Please
make sure you clean up the garden before you leave. We
provide a vacuum which we hope will help remove hairs!!
Neither garden is fully enclosed nor should both children &
pets be supervised.
Both houses are non-smoking
properties. Please respect future guests and smoke outside,
disposing of cigarette butts carefully.
Whilst both of our houses have
charm and character, they were built before the days of damp
proofing courses and cavity insulation. As a result
sometimes damp patches or mildew may appear despite the best
intentions of the cleaners. As traditional properties there
are some uneven tiled floors and low beams. Please remember
that cottages in the country do attract cobwebs. It does not
mean that the cottage is dirty or has not been cleaned as
country dwellers will tell you webs can be spun almost as
quickly as they have been cleaned away.
Both properties are self-catering,
this means that you will need to bring your own provisions.
Basic supplies of toilet rolls, wash up liquid and
dishwasher tablets are provided but you will need more. A
welcome pack can be provided on request. Your accommodation
will be equipped with bedding and pillows, crockery, cutlery
and cooking utensils. Towels are not supplied but may be
hired at £4.00 for hand & bath towel. Both houses have 2
highchairs & 2 cots with mattress but cot bedding is not
supplied.
We accept single sex parties such
as Hen or Stag celebrations. Please be aware the houses are
in quiet rural locations and we ask that guests respect our
neighbours.
A hot tub is available for hire at
Diamond House for a further £250.
Dunham House is situated on Main
Street, Dunham on Trent NG22 0TY & Diamond House is situated
in Church Street, South Leverton DN22 0BX.
Floor plans can be found on the
website. Dunham House has 8 bed / 5 bath. Diamond House has
7 bed / 5 bath.

Both houses have a ground floor
twin room near to a shower room with WC.
Dunham House has parking for 4
cars; others may be parked on the grass at the pub next
door. Diamond House has a large private drive with plenty of
parking.
A games box may be hired from
either house at £25. It provides a selection of outdoor
games. We provide a charcoal BBQ but you will need your own
coals /fire lighters etc.
Supermarkets will deliver but
guests must be at the property in plenty of time to receive
groceries.

take away and delivery.
